40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Red, Yellow and Green Chevrons

This weeks colour prompt for 40 Great Nail Art Ideas was red, yellow and green and my pattern prompt was chevrons.
I decided to go for a red and green gradient and stamp yellow chevrons. I used Pet'la Plate Basics with Colour Alike Yellow Glow over A England Perceval and Bear Pawlish Scar.
They were seriously bright but I was really pleased with them - except that my middle 2 nails were very slightly too long for the stamped image - don't look too closely!

May Challenges - Vintage

Vintage for #ggfnachallenge - I knew what I wanted - not sure I quite got there but this is today's mani - using a whole host of polishes and plates :
Barry M Surfboard and Laguna
Pet'la Basics and Colour Alike Kind of White
Clear Jelly Stamper CJS-02 with A England Rose Bower and Saint George,
Kandy Colors Glovelovers and Barry M Pink Candy
and finally Ejiubas EJB-02 and Barry M Cotton
I liked the 2nd step and the final step - thank you to my Emily for suggesting the final layer - we knew something was missing!

April Challenges - Cities

Cities for #clairestelle8april - I decided to do the stained glass window from Coventry Catherdral as Coventry is where I was born and the Cathedrals (old and new) are the things I remember most about the city.
I used Pet'la Stained Glass and Petla Basics, with Colour Alike Kind of Black over a selection of Kandy Colors Jellies.
I think the idea was OK but it ended up a little on the dark side.

March Challenges - Polka Dots

Polka dots for #firedazedchallenge - I used Pet'la Plate Basics and Colors by Llarowe Be Bold In Blue. Be Bold in Blue is the limited edition Multiple Sclerosis charity polish and it is a stunner! It is not a stamping polish but I had to try it anyway because most of my CBLs do stamp.
I was delighted to see it does stamp and I can't wait to use it to paint my nails.
The first 2 shots are matte as I stamped it over a matte mani and didn't top coat it.
Now that I have loaded the pictures to my computer I am not sure you can reall see the difference.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Food

Food for #40greatnailartideas - this was a bit of a challenge as there was very little to choose from on my stamping plates but how about some afternoon tea?
I started with  a base of pink vintagey dots using Barry M Acai Smoothie and Pet'la Basics over Barry M Pitstop.
Then I stamped Moyra 05 Vintage and Saffron London Black which stamps as a grey / washed out black which is what I was after, more subtle than full on crisp black.
The image was large and wouldn't even quite fit on my thumb so I just tried to use parts of it. I think they turned out OK and quite possibly better than I expected.

January Challenges - Smooshing, Stripes and some Turkish stamping

I bought a new white polish last week. I am always on the look out for a decent white that doesn't end up looking chalky and I am really pleased with this one. 'Ard As Nails White Van Girl is a lovely creme polish which gave great coverage in two coats.
I used this as my base for the #smooshattack being run on a weekly basis on IG.
This was my first one, so quite scary! I used  HJ Manicure Candy Pink HJ Manicure, HJ Manaicure Pink Bikini and Nails Inc Kate Spade Soho Silver. I actually liked this a lot more than I thought and it's quite easy so I think I'll be doing it again. Makes a great base for a mani too.
The prompt was Stripes for #clairestelle8jan and I used Pet'la Plate Basics and Colour Alike Aurora over my pink and silver smoosh. I took advantage of a New Year sale to get some more Pet'la plates! I really like them and the chance to get more was too good to miss,
Finally I used Pet'la Plate Tu-Turkey-key and A England Camelot to add another layer.
