Nail Crazies Unite - Blue and White

I really couldn't decide what I wanted to do for this one - I love blue but I had just done 2 dark manis in the last 2 days (both in a shade rather close to dark blue) so I decided to go for a white base with blue stamping and as there was no theme, I thought it was a great opportunity to do some random stamping with Lina Make Your Mark 01.
I started with a base of Freckles Snowdrops, a lovely crisp white with good coverage.
Then I used the Hit the Bottle I Blue it all on Polish to stamp a random watermarble or maybe waterspotting type of image. Ah ha! the problems of blogging rather than just IG, I need to think of the actual word that the describes the image - I like it anyway and I'll certainly use it again, possibly with less contrasting colours and use it as a base for something else.
I think the result was fine for a blue and white prompt, but a bit white for wearing on my nails all day so I added a second layer with the same plate and A England Natasha's Dance.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Red and Pink (circles)

This week's prompt for 26 Great Nail Art Ideas was Red and Pink. This co-incided with Clairestelle8's January challenge of Circles so I combined them.
I started with bases of Itsy Nails Drop Red Gorgeous and Itsy Nails Ooh La La, and then used Colour Alike Red Dragon and Colour Alike Sweetheart with Loja BBF 46 and Dixie Plate DP04 to stamp some rather retro looking circles.
I love both these images which is why I used both! I just couldn't decide which one!!
I couldn't get a shot without reflections so I added a coat of Freckles You Make Me So Matte.
I wouldn't generally put red and pink together but I was quite pleased with how these turned out.

Nail Crazies Unite - Gold and Silver

This week's prompt was Gold and Silver. There are always going to be prompts that make you think, "oh no, really?" I don't like silver or gold as a rule and have very few polishes in those shades.
Anyway, I decided that as there was no strict rule that said it had to be just those colours I'd be a lot happier with a dark base. I chose Freckles Kiss Me at Midnight, partly because it was new and I wanted to try it and partly because I thought dark blue would be the best shade to put with both silver and gold.
I used For Your Nails Only Cameo and Bullion with Lina Make Your Mark 01 and 02 for a silver splatter and a gold scribble.
I think they turned out pretty well and I kept them on for 2 days (because I love blue and I like random manis that like this)
I am really pleased with the Lina stamping plates, can't wait to do more scribbly, splattery manis!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - New Year New You

So, I think that means new me !
Amongst other things, I would like "new me" to do more knitting!
In an ideal world I would attempt not to over commit and try to get some sort of balance rather than feel constantly stressed by the list of things I haven't done in all areas of life:- family, friends, work, nails, knitting - I wonder what this will be mean? maybe I'll skip the occasional nail prompt if I don't fancy it, maybe I'll try not to waste so much time trying to get the "perfect" photo - I can but try!
Certainly I didn't knit as much as I would have liked last year so of course I chose knitting for my mani and what better time to try one of the new Messy Mansion XL plates.
I saw they had brought MM40 out in XL, but when I went to order it I spotted MM84XL and MM85XL so as there was a 3 for 2 offer I ordered them too! I was not disappointed - I love them all and they stamp really nicely!
I decided to use MM84XL for this mani with a cool mix of knit and purl stitches over a fan brush base.
