Jacava's website describes Oxford Street as a redcurrant compote and that is spot on, the red jelly base just looks so fruity. It is a delicious red, with just a hint of pinkiness to it that I really like. As you build the colour up the pink intensifies to red, and the glitters are beautiful holographic hexes that capture the light like tiny mirrors.
I have never really been of fan of jelly polishes, where glitter gets painted over with successive coats but I love this one. The iridescence still shines through the layers of jelly and is just so eye-catching.
Being a jelly this is quite a sheer polish and I wasn't sure about wearing it on its own as I hate to see the nail line. However I swatched it with 2 and then 3 coats and I also did 1 and then 2 coats over a similar toned red base. If you hate a vnl, or want to see less glitter on the nail then using undies is the way to go but I decided I would wear this the way I think it was intended, 3 thinnish coats. The coats can't be too thin or you end up with no glitter at all; as I am not used to this type of glitter it took a couple of test fingers to work out the best amount.
I can see my nail line, if I look for it, when I curl my fingers towards me, but actually, other than that I can't see it - all I can see is fruity red and a beautiful rainbow of glitter, shining though varying levels of pinky red jelly- perfect!! I am now in love with jelly glitters :)
