May Challenges - Aztec over a smoosh

For this week's smoosh I used China Glaze Long Kiss, Barry M Flamingo and Avon Iceberg White.
The red went a bit pink but I don't mind - I loved the way this one looked and even before I did it I was pretty sure these colours would make a great base for the Aztec mani for #ggfnachallenge.
I used Apipila 09 and Essence Stampy 002. The images were a bit small so I stamped them diagonally to cover most of my nail.
I liked this so much I wore it for a day before I did the second layer. Determined to conquer the clear jelly stamper I bravely attempted shadow stamping with the same images again and Avon Iceberg White. Having stamped diagonally I think I added to the complications of lining the second layer up and the images didn't pick up 100% perfectly but I think it gave a nice effect.
They reminded me of something and then I spotted my Albufeira dolphin on the shelf! of course!! so a quick shot of #mynailsandmydolphin too!
Smoosh!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Floral (and a sunset)

This is another combination post and it's also very late! I did get the mani done on time but the pictures have sat in a folder just waiting...
Anyway, the prompt for #40greatnailartideas was floral but it co-incided with Sunset for #clairestelle8may so I did used the sunset as a base for the floral.
I started with Barry M Coconut Infusion Flamingo, possibly my least favourite in the set of 9 polishes but I actually like it more than I expected so this has been a good purchase!
Then I did the gradient thing with Leighton Denny Brick Road, Barry M Flamingo and Maybelline Noite de Gal. The gradient went quite well I think and it was a shame I didn't get to stamp a more sunset like scene over it but I was so tight for time last week, I had to be a bit economical.
Then I used Born Pretty BPL-029 and Essence Stampy 002 to stamp the flowers - the contrast got lost a bit over the darker part of the gradient bit I did like the end mani.
Finally, I was tempted to try a new plate I had been sent for review (blogged here) so I added a second layer of stamping with Born Pretty BPl-030 and Colour Alike Sweetheart. These spring pastel polishes from Colour Alike are lovely and stamp so nicely!
I had chosen quite a bold pattern from this plate but I did like it, it stamped well and it would probably have stayed on all weekend if I hadn't felt the need to do green and black stripes for my son's football final!
