January Challenges - Daisies
Daisies for #clairestelle8jan - I used DRK A and Hit the Bottle Snowed Under over my Purple and Green mani. I left it matte and coloured the centres with a sharpie.
I liked this so much that I wore it for 48 hours! and despite not top-coating it, it really lasted! I just loved that soft velvety look that you get with a matte top coat.

January Challenges - Winter Berries
I am still loving my new BundleMonster + Sloteazzy BM-XL210 plate and this time I have used it with Hit the Bottle Snowed Under over Leighton Denny Morning Dew.
Then I used it again with A England Proserpine.
The prompt was Winter Berries for #clairestelle8jan. I used Pet'la Plate Golden Russian and Esmaltes da Kelly Naomi over the watermarbled stamping mani. Naomi is a dark red although I think it looks a bit brown in these pics and it was really hard to get a good shot of these, so again I resorted to a matte top coat.
Then I used it again with A England Proserpine.

January Challenges - Snow and Ice
See - we can keep the snowflake manis alive for a good couple of months yet - the prompt for #clairestelle8jan is Snow and Ice.
I hadn't used DRK Seasons yet so I decided I would use the snowflakes on that plate for this mani, but first I have the most exciting plate - a fake water marbling plate!!!! Yay!!
So I decided I'd have a nice icy grey background. I started with a base of Nails Inc Instyle When Doves Cry and then stamped a pretty subtle watermarble with 'Ard As Nails Winter Nights and Bundle Monster + Sloteazzy BM-XL210. This is one of the blogger collaboration plates and it is fantastic, especially for people like me who don't like the mess and just can't water marble!
Then I added snowflakes with DRK Seasons and Hit the Bottle Snowed Under.

When Colours Collide - Green and White
The most recent When Colours Collide challenge was Green and White.
I chose Freckles Polish The Very Hungry Caterpillar as my base. This polish does not have a blog post if its own because despite being very beautiful, I could not get enough decent pictures of it.
I captured the gorgeous golden flecks but none of the sparkle so I will have to try again on a better day!
I stamped with Messy Mansion MM30 and Hit the Bottle Snowed Under but I thought it looked a bit plain so I added a quick dusting of Violet Rose Polish Thistle.
We had another excellent response to this challenge and created two collages.

December Challenges - A beautiful purple, Festive Sweaters and some poinsettias
A three stage mani for you today...
Firstly, a gorgeous purple holo - 'Ard As Nails Oakey. This polish applied beautifully with excellent coverage. The holo is very pretty and I love this bluey purple shade. I don't think my photos really do this justice so this polish will probably stay out to be used again soon.
The prompt for #clairestelle8dec was Festive Sweater so I used UberChic Christmas 01 with Hit the Bottle Absinthe Minded and Hit The Bottle Snowed Under. In my mind it would be easy to to stamp green and white neatly! The end result looks OK but the colour split is a bit more wobbly than I planned.
After a day I felt this Christmassy need to add poinsettias to my mani! I used Fab Ur Nails FUN 14 and Esmaltes Da Kelly Joana and then dotted Virtuous Polish Glory for the centre of the flowers - pretty colourful!!
The final pic is also starring the gorgeous gloves my lovely friend Beverley sent me.

December Challenges - Stars
The prompt was Stars for #wnac2015 - I'm afraid stars mean only one thing - an excuse to do galaxy nails! I used Yours Cosmetics Sascha Gossen YS11 and Hit the Bottle Snowed Under to stamp stars over a base of A England Let Me In, Colors by Llarowe Magnificent Maleficent and A England Cathy.
I'm really pleased with the way these turned out, and the plate is perfect for galaxy nails!

December Challenges - Winter Wonderland
Today's challenge for #clairestelle8dec was Winter Wonderland.
I started with the gorgeous dark purple of Freckles Polish I'm The Fairest. This was from the November Paint the Rainbow box and is a wonderful deep dark purple jelly packed with sparkly glitter.
This polish applied nicely but as it is a jelly, I probably needed a third coat or a layer of undies. I would probably go for undies as I tend to get uneven patchiness as I layer up jellies no matter how hard I try. Anyway, it is gorgeous, I love a deep blue indigo type purple.
Then I stamped with one of the very new and exciting Messy Mansion plates which I got from Nail Artisan. Messy Mansion have just brought out 3 new ranges of plates and this is one of the Tristaenia range. All the plates in this range are split so one half is the negative of the other - I couldn't resist although I did only get 2!! Obviously I used the Merry Christmas one for this mani.
For my winter wonderland I chose the street scene, houses and trees, and stamped using 2True Pro Metallica Artemis.
Then I added a few snowflakes with QA86 and then OPI Pirouette My Whistle, just to make sure it looked properly wintery!

December Challenges - Christmas Candy
The challenge for #clairestelle8dec was Christmas Candy.
I didn't have any plates with the traditional candy canes on so I used UberChic UC3-03 and Hit the Bottle Snowed Under over Fancy Gloss Eternal Love.
Fancy Gloss Eternal Love is a dusky red with bright red shimmer. Application was bit patchy and I could have done with three coats but it it is a lovely red.
Although Hit the Bottle Snowed Under normally stamps well I think the polish spread a bit too thin here and I didn't really get a good red/white contrast. I do have a problem sometimes with these image where there are large blocks of stamped colour. I probabaly should have tried again with another white, although the HTB is usually the best!
To add to my pre-Christmas woes, the light was poor so the picture aren't good either.
In defiance I added some green stamping using Uberchic Christmas 01 and Esmaltes da Kelly Frogger. I think the end result was sort of ugly but cool! It was just one of those days!

December Challenges - Reindeer and Ugly Sweater
I am way behind on my blog postings again, just trying to catch up...
Earlier this week I combined two challenges - Reindeer for #clairestelle8dec and Ugly Sweater for #30daysofcolourchallenge.
But first, Scar! I was trying to avoid all the excitement of the Paint the Rainbow boxes, but then I saw swatches of Bear Pawlish Scar from the November box - the likelihood of picking one of these up on the sales pages seemed slim so I weakened and bought the box- not that I didn't like the box, I was just trying to be sensible and I have rehomed one so I feel a bit better.
Anyway, Scar is the most stunning bright green holo with little green flakies in it. It is everything you could want in a bright green holo polish! This is the first Bear I have used, I do have another one but as yet only swatched. This applied beautifully giving great coverage with two coats. Pictures are taken with top coat, and I used the flash for the last two since the sun was nowhere to be seen.
After a day of loving this polish I did the challenges. I used UberChic Christmas 01 and Hit the Bottle Snowed Under to stamp the christmas jumper type pattern with the reindeer faces.
Then I used a Sharpie to add red noses, as we all know Rudolph has a red nose.
Then I mixed brown Sharpie and some nail varnish remover to make a light brown wash and coloured the reindeer in. (oh look - no picture of this stage... that was supposed to be the submission for #clairestelle8dec but I deleted the picture by mistake!)
Then I used my Kandy Colors Jellies to tint the nails with pink and blue for the Ugly Sweater prompt.
And finally, I added a matte top coat.
