Blood and Fire is a purple textured polish with hints of gold that cast rainbows in sunlight. It is named after the house motto of the Targaryens in Game of Thrones, who traditionally have purple eyes and own dragons. This polish captures their inner fire, in an eyecatching finish.
I asked my son about it but he lives in the world of Minecraft so he was no help! Anyway, I often have no idea about what inspired a polish - I either like them or I don't, but next time I find myself with a spare hour to kill, I might just have a little surf and see what I can find out as it sounds quite interesting.
Blood and Fire is gorgeous, a textured polish with multi coloured micro glitter that sparkles red, green, blue, gold, in fact a whole rainbow of colour. Slightly smoother than a liquid sand it still has that similar texture, and of course the option to top coat it if you prefer. I didn't, as I think I am rather addicted to that rough finish. Although it is described as purple, its a very soft dusky purple, had I not read that I would have said taupe, but the colour is beautiful, enhanced by that stunning microglitter.
I used 3 coats for full coverage but actually, next time, I might use a base of something like Jermyn Street (taupe) or Leading Lilac (dusky purple) and then this wonderful varnish will last me much much longer!!!
I took a lot of pics but none actually captured the finish that well, the lovely rough finish looks kind of bumpy, and a bit shiny in most of the pics, and it wasn't at all. The blurry shot at the end is the best one, it shows the colours and I think captures the spirit of this polish, which is just stunning even in low levels of light.
