Nail Crazies Unite - Gold Snowflakes

This week's prompt was Gold Snowflakes and as soon as I saw the prompt I knew exactly what I was going to do.
One of the few improvements on IG is the facility to save a post, and back in December I saw something I really loved and saved it! A stunning gold and purple snowflake mani by Manuela @manumanufatti.
I started with a base of  'Ard As Nails Starlight, a stunning multichrome which goes from green through red to purple. Interestingly it looks mostly red/green indoors and the purple is only apparent outdoors.
I then stamped my snowflakes with Hehe Fairytale 003 and Colour Alike Supernova. Super Nova is a gold green duochrome but it looks gold often enough to be used here I think.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Black Base and some Gothic Stamping

This weeks's challenge was Black Base which rather conveniently coincided with #clairestelle8nov prompt of Gothic.
So, I started with a black base... of A England Camelot.
Then I stamped a lacy pattern with Colour Alike Venus and Dixie Plate DP 01.
Then I added a rather Gothic image from DP 04 using Colour Alike Supernova.
These two Colour Alike polishes are gorgeous duo chromes: I don't think Venus had much of a chance to do its magic with the pattern I stamped but I loved how Supernova looked and was delighted to see the camera catch the browny gold and the pinky red.
Finally I added a matte top coat.

January Challenges - Clocks and Dance Legend Bow Polish Hex

As I mentioned earlier in the week, I bought some Dance Legend thermal polishes - Today I am wearing Hex, a red thermal. This lovely polish has fine sparkly glitter in it, just like Mutation, and as with Mutation I did need 3 coats for full opacity when warm.
Again, the polish dries to a matte finish so I took a few shots before adding top coat.
I have to confess, I prefer Mutation, being a blue green kind of person but I do like this. particularly in its transition phase. The warm red is just a touch too orange for me but as soon as it starts to cool I love it!
The prompt for #clairestelle8jan was clocks so I used Moyou London Steampunk 03 and Colour Alike Supernova to add the clock images.
I took loads of shots, and then added a matte top coat and took quite  few more! As before, my favourite pics are of the transition phase.
