OPI What Wizardry Is This ?

This is another varnish from the collection inspired by the new Wizard of Oz film, Oz the Great and Powerful, made up of 3 glitters, 3 pale shades and one liquid sand. This is the liquid sand, What Wizardry Is This?
I have already tried 3 of the 4 OPI Mariah Carey liquid sands, reviewed, here here and here and it's safe to say I am completely in love with these polishes, love the texture and the look of them.
I have also reviewed 3 others from this Oz the Great and Powerful collection : When Monkeys Fly! Which is Witch? and Lights of Emerald City here, here and here.

What Wizardry Is This ? is more subtle than the Mariah Carey sands, but no less beautiful. It does not have large chunks of co-ordinating or contrasting glitter, but what it does have is a gorgeous matte, but shimmery finish in a taupe, bronze shade. Its quite hard to describe but it really does have that look of smooth wet sand on the beach just as a wave has washed back down.
It painted on beautifully, 2 coats gave great coverage and I love it!

OPI Can't Let Go - with top coats

Had a bit of fun playing around with top coats on this one, not sure it really added anything much but it's always worth a try.
I was a bit concerned that the Liquid Sands do start to lose their colour after a day or so, it didn't chip or get particularly noticeable tip wear but some of the glitter started to go silver, as it did with Stay The Night.
It is "Matte it up" week in the facebook group, so obviously I had to see what a matte top coat would do.
I had already posted a pic of the varnish there anyway since technically this is a matte polish (its not shiny).
The matte top coat really did soften the whole effect, the glitter lost its sparkle and the varnish took on a look more similar to the Nails Inc concrete finishes. There are some Liquid Sands that don't have glitter but I haven't seen them in the flesh yet so I can't compare. At some point I should try this again on fresh mani to see if it helps the glitter keep its colour, but once I had "matted" it, I added my normal top coat. It still looked bumpy, but felt much smoother, and I probably could have got a smoother look with a 2nd coat.

I think it looked best before I started messing around.

OPI Can't Let Go

Another of the OPI Mariah Carey Liquid Sands today - Can't Let Go which is a beautiful purple.
My camera would have you believe it's more blue - very tricky to photograph.
As with Stay The Night, it dries to a matte, textured finish, filled with medium and very small purple glitters which catch the light beautifully. I do like the texture, I wasn't expecting to and I like the look of the finish. I am not keen on flat matte polishes but this has so much life it is just stunning. I think I can see some blue in it but there isn't a contrasting colour like Stay The Night..
It applied well and coverage was good with 2 coats, but I'll be interested to see how it wears. Stay The Night was pretty resilient but the black did fade to grey, and some of the red glitter lost its colour.
Anyway, this is lovely so let's share the pictures which as I say, show it to look more blue than in reality. The final shot is probably the most true to what I can see.
