June Challenges - A Smoosh and some UberChic stamping

For last week's #smooshynailsunday I used Leighton Denny Brick Road, Nails Inc Peach Sorbet and Barry M Bikini.
Then I had this bright idea to stamp over my smoosh using versions of the 3 smoosh colours.
Stage 1 - Uber Chic UC 4-01 and Nails Inc Queen Victoria Street - this was the best stage in my opinion.
Stage 2 - for the yellow fans! Uber Chic UC 4-02 and EDK Bee.
Final stage - Uber Chic UC 4-03 and Barry M Flamingo. A bit of a #nailfail as the stamping was a probably too subtle, it looked better in real life - but I wish I'd used a stronger peach / orange.

March Challenges - A Smoosh, Flying and Flowers

For #smooshynailsunday I used  OPI Greenwich Village, Leighton Denny Brick Road and Nails Inc Uptown Glamour.

Flying for #clairestelle8mar - I used Above the Curve Friday 13th with Uberchic UC1-02 and UC4-01.

Then I added some colour by smooshing with Kandy Colors Grape Much? and Hey Girl. I love how this changed the look completely!

And finally, Flowers for #firedazedchallenge - UberChic UC1-02 and A England Camelot.

I was quite pleased wth the way these developed and I really loved the final flowers mani.

November Challenges - Purple, Watercolour and Flowers

Another brief combined post where I completed 3 challenges.
I started with Watercolour for #wnac2015 - I didn't quite trust my freehand so I stamped a flower outline from Uber Chic UC4-01 with HJ Manicure Lavender and then coloured that in over a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I used a number of polishes mixed with a small amount of nail varnish remover to water them down.
Then Flowers for #pcanovember15 - for this Pancreatic Cancer Awareness mani I stamped with Moyou London Pro XL10 and Hit the Bottle Purple Reign over the watercolour mani. The watercolour background did obscure the detail a little but I think it looked OK.
Finally, Purple for #clairestelle8nov. I used Uber Chic UC 3-01 and Barry M Black Currant (Black Purple) over the Flowers mani and one picture stars the last flower on my passionflower plant.

November Challenges - A birthday collage

Lovely Mary @dreamymm invited me to join a group creating a birthday collage for another wonderful IG friend @sharnailstar. We all had to recreate one of Sharon's manis.
Looking through Sharon's IG page it was a difficult choice as Sharon does such lovely manis but this green one really stuck in my mind, and I bought Esmaltes da Kelly Frogger and Bruce after seeing this particular mani. I also used the same plates as Sharon Uber Chic UC 2-03 and 4-01 but despite having a millon greens I couldn't match the base, mine is a lot darker - Barry M Black Pistachio.
I am still loving the Barry M Black Gellies, just the cherry one to try now. Despite being too dark for the recreation I did, Pistachio is a lovely colour.

October Challenges - Pink Pastels

Today's prompt was Pink Pastels for #30daysofcolourchallenge. This was a bit of a challenge for me since I own so few pinks especially pastel ones!!!
I decided that Violet Rose Aldeburgh Pink would make a great base for this as it is a lovely soft pale pink, perhaps not quite pastel but very pretty.
I recently bought all 5 Aldeburgh polishes from Violet Rose Polish as Emma was having a clearance sale and they have square glitter in them - I love square glitter!!!
The polish was quite sheer and as my nails are still stained a bit blue I did start with a coat of Leighton Denny Whatever which is the closet match I could find and I did  swatch that on the Uber Mat to check I wasn't distorting the colour.
Aldeburgh Pink is a soft dusky pink with a subtle blue shimmer, black hexes and white square glitter. It applied nicely, I used 2 coats over Whatever, mainly to get the glitter distribution I wanted, one coat was almost enough. If you weren't wearing a base colour you may need 3 coats if you want to hide the nail line. I am so pleased I got this polish - I really love it and now really looking forward to trying the others in the range.
I had no suitable pink to stamp over that colour so I used Uber Chic Beauty UC 4-01 with Hit the Bottle Snowed Under to start with and then stamped Virtuous Polish Miriam. I think Miriam would have looked awful straight over Aldeburgh Pink.
I took pics with matte and glossy top coat, I think in this case I prefer the glossy- the matte just looks a bit flat but I did find it hard to warm to this stamped mani - wrong time of year I think :)
