Cable Luxe Tunic

I love cabled knitting - it always looks so cosy and I really enjoy knitting cabled patterns so when I spotted this one in Ravelry I had to make it.
I had recently bought some lovely Hayfield Bonus Aran in Blue Slate, which is a lovely denim shade and I thought it would be perfect for this.
This was quite  a challenging pattern, it did say "experienced" and at one point I did have to go googling and find a knit along for this pattern as there one bit I just didn't get.
I also made a couple of false starts on the yoke before I got the cabling right but once that was straight in my mind it was OK.
You start with the yoke and then knit off that for the sleeves and the body. You then knit upwards from the yoke for the collar. This is where I varied the pattern. I saw on Ravelry that someone had knitted cables rather than the garter stitch collar the pattern suggested and that seemed to be a nice idea so I did the same. I spent a bit of time working out how to space the cables evenly and allow for the decreases needed and I am quite pleased with the finished result.

  1. Well done with the sweater, I really admire your talent! I have never tried to knit before but I really hold admiration for those who can. And it is lovely to see you wearing it, and to see the lovely face behind the gorgeous nails and knitting! :) xx
