I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and then did some scribbles with a red Sharpie. Then I took a small brush, applied some hand sanitiser gel and started pushing the colour around. This didn't work as well as I'd hoped as the scribble/dots I'd drawn didn't completely disappear. Maybe my gel wasn't the right one, the colour still mixed and covered the whole nail to make a lovely pink shade but it wasn't a major success.
Anyway, since I was going to stamp over it I decided to leave it as it was. I stamped over it with A England Lancelot and the more solid rose image on Pueen Buffet Leisure 80. The result was pretty but I felt it needed something more, green probably. With hindsight maybe I would have added some green Sharpie before stamping or some green glitter.
Anyway, I added a coat of Dollish Urban Camo. This is a mix of black, white, blue, green and yellow glitters in a clear base. It is the first Dollish I have ever used and I was a little disappointed in how much glitter I got in the first coat, even after leaving the bottle upside down for some time, but it served the purpose of adding a little colour.
Then I stamped again using the line image of the rose from the same plate and Essence Stampy 001.
I really like the final combination of white, pink, red, dark red and the flashes of colour from the glitter. Not sure it looks like a flower anymore but as an abstract pattern I love it!!
