Stripey nails with Smart Nail Art Stencils

For today's mani I decided to have another play with my nail stencils. I bought these from smART nails and they have a free postage offer during January 2015 so a great time to buy a few.
I decided to try the stripes (P018) and I chose A England Rose Bower as I was wearing Cadillaquer Days Gone Bye (black with red glitter), and the dark pinky reds are similar enough I think to make this work. I thought it would be nice to try the stripes with this pretty glitter, just to see how it looked really, and I am pretty pleased with the finished result although I do keep thing Dennis the Menace!!
The stencils are fun to use. I had a couple of issues that I think it's worth mentioning. Lift the corners from the base paper before you start, they are a bit tricky to get hold of, even with tweezers and you don't want to mess up your nails :) also, I found you need to press them down pretty firmly and then paint straight away- on my very curvey nails they started to lift at the edges so don't decide to apply all 5 then paint - do one and then paint, then do the next. That's what worked for me anyway.
The last 2 pictures were taken yesterday and the light was awful, the others were taken this morning - not sunny but better light.
On the whole I am pleased with this mani, I wondered about doing one less stripe on the little finger as it's so small but I think it's OK and next time I use this stencil I am going to try them at an angle.

  1. Both your notes are spot on! My nails are also quite curvy and indeed you can not leave the stencil on them for too long unpressed :)
About the peeling of the squares, the secret is to bend the carton they are stacked on exactly on the cut line, the tension will make them lift off in the corners allowing you to catch them easy.
P.S. All the photos are gorgeous! :)
